Dr. Nizar Touleimat is the Director of the research and innovation program for the application of Smart Digital Systems to Security and Defence within the LIST Institute of the French Commission for Alternative and Atomic Energies (CEA). During his career as a Research Scientist he developed strong skills in the application of Machine Learning and Symbolic AI methods to data sciences in the context of multidisciplinary and international cooperations. He is currently the coordinator of the STARLIGHT European project, an innovation project backed by the EU that aims to strengthen European technological autonomy and sovereignty in the field of AI for Law Enforcement and at protecting infrastructures against cyber-attacks enabled by AI. Dr. Touleimat represents CEA in European organisations such as: European Anti-Cybercrime Technology Development Association (EACTDA), Security & Defence Research working group of EARTO and in the Board of Directors of the European Cybersecurity Organisation.
