How do I register for RISE-SD 2024?
Register for the event by visiting the registration dedicated page (link to Registrations section). You can choose among the registration options for individuals or the co-organisers packages for projects. Most credit cards are accepted, as well as bank transfer payments.
What is included in the cost of my registration?
All types of registration provide you access to all the plenary presentations, concurrent breakout sessions, and multiple social and networking events. In addition, there are additional benefits related to the registration package selected. More information is available on the registration dedicated page (link to Registrations section).
Are meals included in my registration?
Your participant registration in RISE-SD 2024 typically includes all meals (lunch, dinner) in the Hotel during your stay and all the coffee breaks of the event’s sessions. More information will be added.
Can I cancel my registration?
Registration cancellation can be made by emailing rise-sd2024_info@iti.gr with “Registration Cancellation” in the theme and describing your request in the body of the email.
Can I purchase my conference registration when I get to the meeting?
Although registration will be available onsite, we encourage all attendees to register for the conference in advance. This shall allow us to plan for the appropriate number of attendees and manage any accommodation needed. As a bonus, RISE-SD 2024 offers an early-bird discount for those who register by the designated deadline (see registration page).
Can I see what sessions will be presented before I arrive on site?
Yes. The program for RISE-SD 2024 will be posted online as soon as it is finalised.
How can I find out when someone is scheduled to present?
The schedule of RISE-SD 2024, including the event’s sessions, will be available online here (TBA). It will be continuously updated with information concerning the titles of presentations and presenters. In addition, you can identify the people or presentations of interest by browsing the schedule.
What are the plenary sessions?
Plenary sessions are sessions with lectures or speeches addressed to all the event participants.
Does RISE-SD 2024 have hotel rooms available for meeting attendees?
Yes. You can book your room by visiting the Location/Venue dedicated page. The venue of the conference is Porto Carras Grand Resort in Chalkidiki and offers special prices for the accommodation of the conference participants.
Where will the conference take place?
RISE-SD 2024 will take place 16-17/10/2024 in Chalkidiki, Northern Greece and will be hosted at Porto Carras Grand Resort
When will registration open?
Registration is open for both individuals and projects, providing a discount for the early comers.
Getting to the hotel
The nearest airport is Thessaloniki International Airport (SKG), located about 60 kilometers from the northern part of Chalkidiki. RISE-SD 2024 will provide the participants with transportation facilities from the airport to the hotel and back on predefined hours and dates. The transportation schedule will be posted on the website before the event. There is no additional cost for this transportation.
Will the conference be recorded and photos be taken?
Yes, video recordings and photos will be compliant with the GDPR rules, aiming to promote and disseminate the conference activities. Therefore, participants will be informed accordingly and will be asked to fill out a relevant consent form at the reception desk before entering the event.
Can another event be co-hosted or co-located with RISE-SD 2024?

Is making a presentation the only way to participate in the conference?
There are several registration packages concerning simple attendee, presenter, or even project with booth/stand participation available. More information can be found on the Registration dedicated page.
Does making a presentation automatically mean that a related paper will be published?
Presentations are included in the program after submitting an extended abstract alongside the registration (latest registration date is at 27th of September 2024, 23:59 EEST). The extended abstracts will be included in the online proceedings of RISE-SD 2024. The selected presentations will be asked to submit a full paper that, following a peer review, will be published in the Springer Book Series “Security Informatics and Law Enforcement.”
Which is the submission process?
Titles for the presentations will be provided individually by the co-organising projects. Then the authors must submit an extended abstract alongside the registration (latest registration date is at 27th of September 2024, 23:59 EEST). They will be shortly informed about its acceptance and the time/date slot in the program. The right to present is linked with the formal registration in the event as an individual or project. For those that wish to submit their presentation as a paper to the dedicated Springer volume, a peer-reviewed call for papers will follow. The submission of the full paper is planned for the 15th of December 2024.
Do I need to sign up for individual sessions or workshops after I register for the conference?
No, once an individual or project (two free passes) registers for the conference, they will have access to all conference sessions. So, you need only to check in at the conference reception desk upon your arrival on RISE-SD 2024.
Can I stay in another hotel during the RISE-SD 2024?
Participants are free to select the hotel where they wish to stay. However, be aware that the prices of the registration packages are linked to the condition of the accommodation of the registrants at the Hotel hosting the RISE-SD 2024 event at 16/10-17/10/2024.
